Bible Verse of the Day, Wednesday 12th March 2025
Bible Verse (Proverbs 18:21)
“The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”
Opening Prayer:
Heavenly Father, Thank You for the gift of words and the ability to speak life. We humbly come before You, asking for wisdom to use our tongues for good. Teach us to speak words that build up, encourage, and glorify You. Help us understand the power our words carry and guide us to use them with grace and truth. May Your Holy Spirit shape our hearts so that our words reflect Your love. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
Focus Message: “The Power of Your Words”
Our words carry immense weight — they can breathe life into others or cause destruction. As believers, God calls us to steward our speech carefully. By choosing words that align with His truth, we can uplift, heal, and bring hope to those around us.
Lessons:
1. Words Can Build or Break: Our words have the power to encourage, inspire, and bless — or to wound, discourage, and tear down. Every conversation presents an opportunity to choose life over death.
2. The Heart Behind Our Words: Jesus taught that our words flow from the abundance of our hearts (Luke 6:45). If our hearts are full of love and truth, our speech will reflect that. Guarding our hearts helps guard our tongues.
3. Speaking Life Over Yourself and Others: We can speak life not just to others but also to ourselves. Declaring God’s promises and truth over our lives brings faith and strength. Similarly, uplifting others with words of kindness and encouragement can change their lives.
4. Accountability for Our Words: Scripture reminds us that we will give an account for every idle word (Matthew 12:36). Understanding this should make us more intentional in using words that honor God and align with His purpose.
Bible References:
James 3:5–6 — The tongue is a small part of the body but has great power.
Ephesians 4:29 — Speak only what is helpful for building others up.
Luke 6:45 — Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.
Colossians 4:6 — Let your conversation be full of grace, seasoned with salt.
Matthew 12:36–37 — We will be held accountable for every careless word.
Closing Prayer:
Father God, Thank You for reminding us of the power our words carry. Help us to speak with love, wisdom, and grace. May our tongues be instruments of life, proclaiming Your truth and kindness to everyone we meet. Transform our hearts so that our speech naturally reflects Your goodness. And when we stumble, gently lead us back to Your ways. Let our words bring healing, hope, and glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
